but taste is personal. we realized that what delights one palate might not resonate with another. instead of chasing a single “best,” we focused on finding our best — a matcha so balanced, we believed it could become yours, too.
our search led us to hangzhou, the origin of powdered tea. in this birthplace of tea culture, we met growers who understood patience and precision. through shared tastings and visits, we found partners committed to the same standards: shade-grown leaves, hand-picked selection, and stone-grinding.
what we discovered was not just tea — it was a standard. vivid, smooth, and layered. a matcha we drink every morning, and the only one we ever wanted to share.
now, we work directly with those growers. our terms are simple:
- only first-harvest leaves, hand-picked each spring
- shade-grown, then stone-ground to order
- every batch tested for purity, vibrancy, and taste
we approve only what meets our own bar — because if we wouldn’t enjoy it, we won’t offer it.
