You're not tired.
It's your coffee.
It doesn't just take your afternoon. It takes your evening too — and you don't have to give up coffee to get it back.
It's not the afternoon it takes.
It's the evening.
You've read the same email three times and taken in none of it.
You're at the snack cupboard. You weren't even hungry.
You snap at someone who did nothing wrong.
You're home. You're there, but you're not really there. You eat, you scroll, you go to bed.
Tomorrow you'll drink more coffee. Because what else is there.
It's not you. It's not that you're getting old, or soft, or bad at this. Nobody has told you the real reason.
At 3pm, you're not tired.
Caffeine doesn't give you energy — it blocks your tiredness signal. The tiredness keeps building up behind it.
That tiredness signal is a molecule called adenosine — it builds up in your body all day. Caffeine doesn't clear it, it just blocks the message. When the caffeine wears off, all the adenosine you've accumulated lands at once. That's the 3pm wall — and it arrives almost exactly on schedule from your morning cup.
Your 2pm coffee is
still in you at 9pm.
Caffeine has a 5–6 hour half-life. Drink 200mg at 7am and you've still got about 100mg at noon, 50mg at 5pm, 25mg at 10pm.
You think you're sleeping badly because of stress. Then you're more tired tomorrow — so you drink more.
5–6 hr half-lifeIt wasn't hunger.
You weren't hungry at 3:30. You know that. You went anyway.
That's not weakness — it's chemistry. When the crash hits, your blood sugar drops with it. Your body reads that as "food, now." So you reach for something sweet, get a small lift, and the crash comes back harder an hour later.
Most people don't notice the snacking has stopped until weeks later — when they realise they've walked past the cupboard every day and never thought about it once.
Don't quit. Just move one cup.
We're not asking you to give up coffee. Keep the one you love.
You don't have to quit coffee.
Just move one cup.
Here's what actually works: matcha in the morning, coffee if you want it, hojicha at night.
Matcha and coffee have roughly the same caffeine. The difference is an amino acid called L-theanine — it flattens the caffeine curve, so there's no spike up, and therefore no drop down. It's not less caffeine. It's smoother caffeine.
Hojicha has just 7–18mg of caffeine — about a tenth of a coffee, less than a square of dark chocolate. Steady mornings. Quiet nights.
Tried matcha and hated it?
You had bad matcha.
"Too bitter." "Tastes like grass." That's not a taste preference. That's a quality problem.
Bitterness comes from catechins — the older the leaf, the more it has. First-harvest young leaves have the lowest catechins and the highest L-theanine.
That's why teasis is naturally sweet with zero bitterness — no sugar, no additives. Brew at 80°C, never boiling water.

You won't notice the afternoon. You'll notice the evening.
Sixty seconds. Whisk, bowl, hot water. Then the day starts.
You read the email once. You reply. Done.
You're not hungry. So you don't eat.
You don't snap at anyone.
You're home, and you're actually there. You talk. You listen. You're not just waiting for bed.
Tomorrow morning is coming either way.
The only difference is how you'll spend it.

“I used to fall apart in the afternoon and had to rely on another coffee to get through. Now I drink matcha in the morning and stay sharp all the way to night. Best part is I still drink coffee — I just don't need the second cup.”
